Discover the spiritual secret to living a stress-free, purpose-filled life

Do memories of your past haunt you or hold you back? Do thoughts about the future make you anxious? Imagine living in a place where regrets lose their grip and worries about tomorrow melt away. It sounds impossible, right?

But what if it’s not?

Learning to live in God’s eternal now just might be the key to the peace and clarity you’ve been looking for.

Why the Past and Future Feel So Heavy

Truth be told, many of us carry around the weight of our past. Maybe it’s something you did, something someone said, or something that never happened the way you hoped. For some of us, the trauma of the past has become our identity.  Every time we think of an incidence in our past, we not only relive the event, we relive the emotions that we felt; both of which form a prison from which we can’t seem to escape.

Then there’s the future, filled with uncertainty: Will I be okay? What if things don’t work out? What if I fail again? What’s going to happen?  Fear and anxiety grip us as we meditate on the unknown.  Not realizing that the future never comes.  The moment tomorrow becomes today, the future has disappeared.  We are worrying about – nothing!

The past is the land of “If only” while the future is the land of “What if?”  Neither are the land of peace and prosperity.

These thoughts are real, and they affect us more than we often realize. They steal joy, drain energy, and keep us stuck in cycles of stress. But there’s a better way—and it starts by changing how we see time.

A Different Kind of Time

What if I told you that God doesn’t live in time the way we do. We see time like a straight line: past, present, and future. God sees time as a circle—complete, whole, and happening all at once. He exists in what Scripture calls “the eternal now.”

Ecclesiastes 3:15 says,

“That which has been is now; and that which is to be has already been.”

This means God sees your entire life—past, present, and future—all at once. Nothing surprises Him. Nothing overwhelms Him. And the amazing part? He invites you to live from that same place of peace and confidence.

What It Looks Like to Live in the Eternal Now

Living in God’s eternal now doesn’t mean pretending problems don’t exist or ignoring responsibilities. It means anchoring yourself in God’s presence—in the now—where healing, wisdom, and clarity are available.

When you live from this space:

  • Your past no longer defines you.
  • Your future isn’t something to fear.
  • You stop striving and start trusting.
  • Stress begins to lose its power.

Wouldn’t it be great to go from living in constant stress and fear to walking in peace and purpose—not because life got easier, but because you’ve learned how to live in the presence of God’s “now”?

So What’s Next?

In the blogs that follow, we’ll go deeper into consciousness, time, and spiritual freedom. We’ll talk about practical steps you can take, the difference between spiritual and emotional awareness, and how to shift your thinking so that fear and stress no longer control your life.

But for today, here’s a simple place to start:

Take a deep breath.
Close your eyes.
And just say, “God, I invite You into my now.”

You don’t have to fix the past or figure out the future. You just have to show up—right here, right now—and trust that God is already present, already working, and already holding your life in His hands.
