To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven: 2 A time [a]to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck what is planted; 3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; A time to break down, and a time to build up; Ecclesiastes 3:1-3
As a spiritual life coach to movers and shakers in the marketplace, I have never come across a “rich or influential person” who does not value their time. King Solomon obviously the wisest and richest man who has ever lived, realized the monetary value of time. Time you invest somewhere else or in someone is “time” that is no longer available for any other activity. According to King Solomon, God has a “set” a “time” to “every purpose.” This means that “Time” is the currency of “Purpose.” So to waste “Time” is to waste purpose. The statement a “time” to “every purpose” also means that there is a specific amount of “Time” God has allotted to the purpose of each human here on Earth. This means that every human is working against “borrowed time.” “Time” does not increase when you spend it unwisely. Time does not stay and wait for you; it simply soldiers on like a well-trained soldier running into the battlefield.
Are You Spending or Investing Your Time?
Since “Time” is the currency of life, it begs the question “Are your spending or investing your time?” Don’t be in a hurry to answer this question, because how you answer it, will exposing the underlying mentality behind your successes and failures. Lets be honest most people are “spenders.” This is a cultural habit that separates the ruling class from most of the governed. It’s a mentality that separates “mediocrity” from “exceptional.” By definition “Spend” means to “pay out, disburse, or expend; dispose of (money, wealth, resources, etc.): to use up, consume, or exhaust:” Just let this definition of “Spend” sink in and then honest describes what happens to “Time” in your space.
On the other hand the online dictionary defines the word “Invest” as follows:
1.To put (money) to use, by purchase or expenditure, in something offering potential profitable returns, as interest, income, or appreciation in value.
2. To use (money), as in accumulating something: to invest large sums in books.
3. To use, give, or devote (time, talent, etc.), as for a purpose or to achieve something:
4.To furnish with power, authority, rank, etc.
5. To furnish or endow with a power, right, etc.; vest:
You will quickly notice from the above working definitions that there is a world of difference between people who “spend their time” and those who “invest it” wisely. Spending time suggests a careless and carefree attitude towards the most important asset “humans” have given on Earth by God on an equal basis. Whereas those who “invest their Time” are the world’s super-achievers and leaders who are consciously aware that that “Time” is their most prized possession. This is why getting an audience with high level venture capitalists, celebrities, high profile business and political leaders is very difficult as you can somehow prove that “you qualify” for an invest of their time. The primary motivation behind “Spending” is consumption, whereas the primary motivation behind “Investing” is to achieve ROI (Return on Investment.)
Try to call Bill Gates, Michael Jordan or President Trump and tell their secretaries that you just want to “hang out!” The call will end abruptly. Their secretaries would be fired if such a meaningless appointment was ever put through, when they are many other super achievers who are also looking for an audience, who can actually give them a return on the investment of their precious time. I am challenging you to start qualifying the people who desire an audience with you. If they don’t “know their purpose, they will have no qualms about wasting yours!”

PRAY THIS ALOUD:
Heavenly Father, thank you that when the Lord Jesus died and shed His blood for me on the Cross, He Redeemed my Time, so I can once again invest it in discovering your original intent for my life. Heavenly Father forgive me for times I have simply wasted the time you gave me to fulfill my purpose. I bind every demonic spirit designed to rob me of my time. I cancel every appointment with time wasters in Jesus name, I pray!
