There is so much more I want to tell you, but you can’t bear it now. When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future. He will bring me glory by telling you whatever he receives from me. All that belongs to the Father is mine; this is why I said, ‘The Spirit will tell you whatever he receives from me. John 16:12-15
How much would you pay, if you were the chief executive officer of a multibillion-dollar corporation to have a consult on staff endued with powers to accurately predict the future 100%? As one who has been privileged to be a spiritual and executive life-coach to many movers and shakers in the marketplace I can tell you that I have never met one “business person” who wouldn’t pay high dollar to retain the services of such a consultant. Such a consultant on staff of any business would ensure untold profits and unparalleled success for any business. But this is exactly what New Testament believers have in the Holy Spirit.
In this week’s blog I am focusing on this particular statement Jesus made in John 16:12-15… “He will tell you about the future.” Perhaps there is nothing more that most people in our world, including God’s children worry and fret about like the “Future!” Every human being on Earth wants to know that his or her future will be more prosperous and satisfying than his or her past and present. I truly understand this sentiment in its universality. The Lord also appreciates our fears and aspirations about the future, so He dishes us the following promise.
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11
I am currently in the beautiful nation of Nigeria ministering in some of the largest churches in the country. What is interesting about this particular ministry trip is that in November of 2017 the Holy Spirit said this to me, “In 2018 you will be going to Nigeria and Ghana. Get ready.” Without any manipulation on my part the Holy Spirit supernaturally opened great and effective doors of ministry into Nigeria and Ghana. My wife and I will be in Ghana in December at the invitation of high-ranking government officials. The point I am trying to drive home is that the Holy Spirit predicted my future with 100% accuracy. This is why it’s critical you forge a real and intimate relationship with the Holy Spirit.
I want to encourage you that God has already secured your future, regardless of what you are going through now. Maybe you don’t even have one dollar to your name and are struggling to make ends meet. Nevertheless, the LORD did not create you for perpetual struggle. However, you can only rise above your present circumstances by placing your trust in the leading of the Holy Spirit. He will guide you into all truth and show you “things to come.” I usually joke that when I got saved decades ago, “I was so poor, when poor people saw me, they got encouraged, as they realized I was worse off than they were.” Fast forward, I am now a bestselling author, global minister of the gospel, business consultant and senior pastor of a thriving church in the United States of America. Needless to say that God is not a respecter of persons. If you dare to trust in the Holy Spirit’s faithful guidance, your life will become a living example of God’s eternal goodness.
Heavenly Father, thank you for loving me so much that you have made provision for me to know the person of the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit the Lord Jesus said that when you come into my life, you will tell me about the future. Heavenly Father thank you for securing my future. Lord Jesus help to host the presence of the Holy Spirit like you did when you were on Earth. In Jesus name, I pray!
