Only ask, and I will give you the nations as your inheritance, the whole earth as your possession. Psalm 2:8
Then you will tell him, ‘This is what the Lord says: Israel is my firstborn son. 23 I commanded you, “Let my son go, so he can worship me.” But since you have refused, I will now kill your firstborn son!’” Exodus 4:22 (NLT)
Do you know where nation states come from? The kingdom concept of nations was God’s permanent solution to make sure that the Tower of Babel never happens again and that all of mankind fulfill their God-given mandate to subdue all the earth. To refresh your memory, I will ask a question and then answer it. In layman’s terms “What is the Tower of Babel?” Answer: The Tower of Babel is the congregation of all races of men under the banner of one borderless society controlled by one central government or messiah-like human being, directly aligned with the kingdom of darkness. In the case of the Tower of Babel, Nimrod was the messiah-like human being, who was directly aligned with the kingdom of darkness. For all practical purposes, there were no nation-states before Genesis 11. The kingdom concept of nations was God’s antidote to a well-concocted demonic agenda to make men worship their own political agenda and build a “One World Order” that was completely controlled by Lucifer. The demonic conspiracy to permanently hijack God’s original intent for mankind was so serious; God came down from His holy habitation in Heaven to see what the children of men were building. When God came down, the following is the testimony He gave concerning this matter.
But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the sons of men had built. And the Lord said, “Indeed the people are one, and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them. Come, let Us go down and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.” Genesis 11:5-7
So God in His infinite genius conceived an idea to make sure this would never happen again. He confused their languages and scattered them across the Earth. These new tribal factions congregated around familiar languages and formed what is now known as the League of Nations. God developed the kingdom concept of nations one step further when He formed a nation that would become a beacon of light to all the nations of the world – Israel! Through Israel God would demonstrate the eternal blissfulness of a nation under God. God supernaturally delivered them from slavery in Egypt. He brought the nation of Egypt to its knees for Israel’s sake. On their way to the Promise land, God was a cloud of shelter from the scorching Sun during the day and a cloud of fire at night. Even though they were no hospitals in the wilderness, there was none feeble nor sick among them. He fought all their battles and destroyed nations mightier than them. Why? Israel is God’s firstborn, among the nations of the world. Through this tiny nation God would gift the world with the greatest gift of all – the Promised Messiah and the Written Word of God.
However this tiny nation has seen its share of atrocities as Satan has targeted it through the ages for destruction. Adolf Hitler killed over 6 million European Jews in gas chambers, but even he failed to wipe them out from the face of the Earth. Why? It is because God’s covenant with Abraham and Israel will last forever. History clearly shows that any nation that has been hostile to Israel does not remain a pinnacle nation for too long and any nation that blesses Israel has prospered. The “Miracle of Israel” is that for 2000-years (after the destruction of the temple by the Romans in 70AD), the Jewish people had been without a homeland of their own. For a while it looked like Jews would remain refugees in Gentile nations, but the God of Israel neither sleeps nor slumbers. Miraculously the United Nations in 1948 with President Truman casting the deciding vote, created a Jewish homeland in Palestine. Within seconds the Jewish people were supernaturally restored to the land God had promised to their forefathers. The million-dollar question is why is the restoration of Israel important to Christians everywhere and to the nations of the world? For Christians, Israel is the prophetic time clock God is using to bring to a conclusion this age of sin and death. During His second coming, Yeshua (Jesus) will rule all the nations of the world from Jerusalem on the throne of King David for 1000 years of heaven on earth.
Now for nations with citizens who pray for the peace of Jerusalem, God has made the following precious promise, “Pray for peace in Jerusalem. May all who love this city prosper.7 O Jerusalem, may there be peace within your walls and prosperity in your palaces.8 For the sake of my family and friends, I will say, “May you have peace.” 9 For the sake of the house of the Lord our God, I will seek what is best for you, O Jerusalem (Psalm 122:6-8).” Everything in the above passage of scripture is what will start happening in your nation when you begin to bless Israel. Its very clear to me based upon Psalm 2:8 that God loves nations, because He loves the people in those nations. God also loves nations because each nation brings a national flavor to the human experience that no other people group can bring. Even praise and worship is highly enhanced by the different national expressions of worship from around the world. As you are reading this article I want to challenge you to begin to “Call out the Destiny of your Nation!”
